Hand forged feather damascus chef knife, created slowly in my West Auckland forge. The most complex and time consuming pattern I have made. Created with 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steels. Handle is made with stabilised Pohutukawa Burl from Whangamata, canvas micarta and sculpted brass. Blade is 21cm from tip to heel.
This chef knife is the peak of my knife making ability to date. Never to be repeated, these materials do not exist outside of the knife, so an absolute showcase of what I love to do, using rare materials. Despite its appearance, this knife is made to be enjoyed in kitchen. Lightweight and well balanced for hours of slicing and dicing.
